Terms of Service

Last updated · April 26, 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a contract between you and Astra. We have tried to write them plainly so you can actually read them. The short version: be kind, be honest about your age, treat your readings as a mirror rather than a verdict, and remember that astrology is for reflection — not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

1. Welcome

By creating an account or using Astra (“Astra”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Astra. If you are using Astra on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. What Astra is

Astra is a digital astrology companion. We compute your natal chart from the birth details you provide and generate personalised written reflections — daily notes, weekly themes, compatibility readings, and journal prompts — using astronomical data combined with large language models. Astra is delivered as a web application and may, in the future, include native mobile clients.

3. Not professional advice

Astra is intended for self-reflection, contemplation, and entertainment. Nothing produced by Astra constitutes medical, mental health, legal, financial, relationship, career, or professional advice. Always consult an appropriately qualified professional for decisions that materially affect your wellbeing, relationships, or finances. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a qualified mental health provider.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Astra. By using Astra, you represent that you meet this requirement, that the information you provide (including your birth details) is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that your use of Astra does not violate any law applicable to you.

5. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding the credentials used to access Astra and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we believe present a risk to other users, or that have been inactive for an extended period. One person, one account.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the information you enter into Astra — your birth details, journal entries, friends list, notes, and any other content you create (“Your Content”). You grant Astra a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating Astra and providing the service to you. We do not sell Your Content and we do not use it to train third-party foundation models.

7. AI-generated readings

Astra’s readings are produced by AI guided by your chart and preferences. They may occasionally contain inaccuracies, awkward phrasing, factual mistakes, or interpretations you disagree with. Treat them as a mirror, not a verdict. We make no guarantee that any reading is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or copy Astra except as expressly permitted by law; (b) use Astra to harass, harm, threaten, defame, or impersonate others, or to generate readings about identifiable people without their reasonable consent; (c) upload content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that otherwise violates the rights of others; (d) interfere with the security, integrity, or performance of the service, including by transmitting malware or attempting to gain unauthorised access; (e) use Astra to build a competing product, or to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine-learning model.

9. Subscriptions & billing

Some features of Astra require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) at the price displayed at checkout, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain access until then. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change pricing or plan features with reasonable advance notice; changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period.

10. Free trials & promotions

We may offer free trials or promotional pricing. Unless otherwise stated, trials convert automatically into a paid subscription at the standard price when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. Promotional offers are limited to one per user and cannot be combined with other offers.

11. Third-party services

Astra relies on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, and AI inference. Your use of Astra is also subject to those providers’ terms where they apply. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services, and links to external sites are provided for convenience only.

12. Beta features

From time to time we may offer features marked as “beta”, “preview”, or “experimental”. These are provided as-is, may change or be removed without notice, and may be less stable than the rest of Astra. Feedback on beta features is welcome but never required.

13. Intellectual property

Astra, including its name, logo, design system, written voice, interpretive content, software, and underlying chart engine, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Astra for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

14. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Astra, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them without restriction or obligation to you. We are grateful for your feedback but cannot promise to respond individually.

15. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or terminate your access to Astra, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the service to you becomes commercially impractical. Upon termination, your personal data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where we are required to retain certain information by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution — will survive.

16. Disclaimers

Astra is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that any reading or insight produced by Astra is correct, suitable, or beneficial.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Astra and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) Astra. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

18. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Astra and its team from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) Your Content; (b) your use or misuse of Astra; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

19. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Astra is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Astra agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within sixty (60) days, it will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through Astra or by email and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Astra after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using Astra and delete your account.

21. Severability & entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Astra concerning the service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
